This Week – Vol. 4

Some clicks I’ve taken in the last week or so. New OD Zulu band for my Nighthawk, Yuketen Country Rangers, blooming Dendrobium hybrid, Corter keyhook and ring + hook bracelet, last but not least some indigo chipping off Post O’alls denim.

Three Years Later: Corter Utility Belt

It’s been somewhere around three years that I’ve been wearing this belt everyday. One of the first American made pieces I picked up that really made me realize that you truly get what you pay for. Starting out as natural vegetable tanned leather, it has darkened and developed some really nice patina. I snapped these just to share with Eric, but figured I’d share ‘em here. Looking back at where he was when I purchased this belt from him, it’s really amazing to see how he’s expanded Corter Leather. It definitely shows that guys (and gals) are more interested in quality over quantity.  Keep up the good work Eric!

Durability

I am totally guilty of wearing the same clothes for a few days in a row, but isn’t that what this stuff was made for? Durable garments that take on character the more you beat them up are fantastic, and much like denim, they get better & better with each wear. I’ve never been much for an oxford shirt, or “double monks” – but I am a huge fan of clothing that can be worn without worry. Stuff that isn’t ruined once it has a grass stain on the knee, a slight tear on the sleeve, or even spilling a quarter of a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce on the crotch. Thankfully, there’s a handful of guys out there that make garments that can still look awesome, even when they’re a bit beat up.
