Ebbet’s Field for Simple Threads

Well, it’s that time again. I wanted to do another run of caps with Ebbet’s Field for Simple Threads, and this is how they turned on. I’m super excited about the final product, and hope you all like them. They’re done up in a navy wool, with grey eyelets and contrasted stitching. The ST embroidery is a two-tone felt, and the under brim is a pin striped navy/grey lightweight wool. Made in Seattle, WA. They’re $45 shipped in the USA, and $55 shipped around the rest of the globe – so if you’re interested shoot me an e-mail (ryan at simplethreads dot co). I’ve got all sizes up from 7 1/8 to a size 8 this time. If you need help finding the right size, measure your around your cranium in inches, and I’ll help you out.

Sorry for the hiatus, but I figured this would be a good note to come back on. Thanks so much for the continuous support.

In Detail – 2/26/2012

Another camera, another In Detail’s post. The 5D will be back this week, and I’ve got a couple of things I’d like to shoot – so until then! This HBT (herringbone twill) camouflage hunting jacket was a flea-market find that I stumbled upon yesterday for $10 bucks. It’s vintage “Ted Williams Approved” for Sears Roebucks. I will post the details about it when I’ve got a suitable camera. It fits almost perfect, and is in great shape. I’ve loved this fabric and although there’s been a huge uprising of brands using it lately, it’s still a classic. More history behind it can be found over at ACL - so read up if you’re into that kind of stuff. Imogene + Willie Ebbet’s Field Flannels cap, Post O’alls Cruzer vest, and a Woolrich Woolen Mills Knockabout shirt is everything else I’ve got on.  I’ve been alternating between my Tellasons and these Rogue Territory Stantons’ to get them broken in before the hotter weather comes this way. And, yet again… Red Wing 8131 Moc-toes.

In Detail – 01/25/2012

Alright, time to switch it up a bit. I wanted the photos of me actually wearing stuff to be more detailed, so I’ll be going in that direction from this day forward. Details are so important, and my aesthetic is based primarily off of them, functionality, and just being comfortable.

Hat: Ebbets Field (New color way in the works)

Jacket: Woolrich Woolen Mills (Daiki Era) Khaki Poplin Parka

Shirt: Engineered Garments Chambray Work Shirt

Pants:  Rogue Territory Indigo Work Trousers

Shoes: New Balance 992

Bag: Filson Zipper Tote

Ebbet’s Field Caps for Simple Threads

Ever since I picked up my Imogene + Willie Ebbet’s ball cap, I’ve wanted to do a small run of caps for Simple Threads. About six weeks ago I decided on a color pattern and materials and worked with Ebbets to make it a reality. The upper is a mid-weight grey wool, with a cardinal wool brim, eyelets, and top button. I wanted to keep the green satin visor to keep them traditional. Ebbet’s has been making authentic caps and jerseys since 1987, using the same materials that were used to originally make them. Everything they produce is made in their small Seattle factory with extreme attention to detail. These turned out exactly how I thought they would, if not better. There’s 24 caps in all, and I’ll have them up for sale soon. I hope you guys dig them.
